Lady Lyka (Elika Rivera) aka Melodious De Lykablesz is born in Manila, Philippines (October 29, 1988). was raised in Sucat, Paranaque of spanish & hawaiian blood. She's a talented actress/comedian, dancer, and musician. Originally a singer but accidentally discovered a talent in rapping. She was also a model for Pueblo Models in Japan.
At the age of 9 Lyka joined a choir at school in which she was booted-out off because her voice drowned-out the other singers and out perform them all. She didnt only have the voice but the moves. "I had a very mature & strong voice for my age and it was hard for me to flow with the other voices. I was a bit of a stage freak when I was younger, I loved the spotlight and solo attention."
At age 16 then moved on and learnt to play drums and is currently pursuing as a drummer for filipina band 'Tagalog po Kami' while settling in as a solo artist on her own. "People love to laugh and humour at the idea of me being rapper who drums for a punk-band, I think it's so cool! It realy re-assures me that I'm doing my job as an entertainer. It's like theres only one me this world is ever gonna get, so I might aswell use all of me."
In December 2005, Lyka was discovered by a Filipino music producer from Too Phunked Music, Jay Ortega. He described her as a 'filipina-Beyonce' Jay saw something in Lyka that he has never seen from other pinay(filipina) artist which was:: X-factor, Originality, Style, Mystery & Soul he says "She's a refreshing filipina performer. She's so energetic, emotional & entertaining. She'd do so well if she was in the Philippines! Plus how many Filipina have you hear sing in arabic? She never cease to amaze us with her talent! Genuine entertainer!"
Early 2006, Lyka then joined a hip-hop team under Too Phunked music, called 'The Following Information.' Lyka taken the position as female lead vocals . Also the choreographer for 'The Following Orientation'. Then Departed months after the death of Jayne Faustino Ramirez, The Founder of Too Phunked Music. As the company became 'bankrupt' and collapsed miserably. Other struggling artist and bands left too phunked and is said to have closed at the end of 2006.
Lyka is the granddaughter of Filipina actress Juvy Cachola who worked on films with Sampaguita pictures in movies such as: Batang Iskwater, Mga (1964), Double Wedding (1968) , Nobody's Child (1970), Tugtuging bukid (1962), Dance'o'rama (1963), Kaming mga talyada (1962), Gintong alaala (1970), and Dugo Nga Vampira. Also in the family tree her Tita/Aunt Febe was one of the original members in Philippines Finest music ensemble 'The Company'.
She's following in the footstep of her Lola Juvy by being casted in a Philippine New Zealand Film Comedic/Drama called "The Taglish Bitch" playing the role of Jolina Marie Faustino Gonzales ('Lina'). Lyka says:"I didnt want to participate in the movie because of it's title, but reading the script made me really like it. It's just so funny! And so me!
Back in the Philippines, at the ages of 5-6 she had trained at a music school that specializes in developing outstanding performance artists. Ryan Cayabyab The Music Studio which was run by Emmy Cayabyab. Wife of Ryan Cayabyab, Executive and Artistic Director of The San Miguel Foundation for the Performing Arts also one-third of the judges in Philippine Idol. But then departed in 1997 as the Family moved onto live in New Zealand.
